This herbarium sheet preserves a dried specimen of Castilleja arvensis, a paintbrush species native to Mexico and Central America, collected in March 1837 and held in the Natural History Museum, London (Gardner Herbarium). Two adhesive labels identify it as both a syntype and isotype of Castilleja communis Benth., with determinations by V. C. Souza (1992) and Mark Egger (2003–2005), who reassigned it to C. arvensis. The color calibration card and metric rule are modern digitization aids. No satirical or caricature content is present; this image is a botanical specimen record, not a print cartoon, and cannot be described within the requested exhibition framework.
