This is a herbarium specimen sheet showing pressed and mounted branches of Cuphea calophylla, a small-leaved flowering plant in the loosestrife family (Lythraceae), collected in central and southern Paraguay by Dr. Emil Hassler during his Plantae Paraguarienses expeditions. Two collection numbers (2103 and 5549) are mounted together. The specimen belongs to the history of natural history illustration and specimen collection practices.
