Scaevola gaudichaudiana Cham.
· Collected August & December 1909, Maui and Kauai, Hawaiian Islands
This is a pressed-plant herbarium specimen, not a print cartoon or caricature. It shows dried branches, leaves, and stems of Scaevola gaudichaudiana Cham., mounted on archival paper with collection labels in French by Abbé Faurie and a later determination label by O. Hoteborg (1957). A color-calibration chart and metric scale bar from the Natural History Museum, London are visible at lower right. No satirical imagery, printmaking technique, or caricature tradition is present or applicable here. Describing this as political satire would be factually false. It belongs to the history of botanical science, not graphic narrative.
