This is a pressed-plant herbarium specimen, not a print cartoon or caricature. It shows dried branches, leaves, and stems of Scaevola gaudichaudiana Cham., mounted on archival paper with collection labels in French by Abbé Faurie and a later determination label by O. Hoteborg (1957). A color-calibration chart and metric scale bar from the Natural History Museum, London are visible at lower right. It belongs to the history of botanical science, not graphic narrative.
