Aeschynomene fascicularis Cham. & Schltdl.

· Collected 1730, identified and annotated 4 Oct. 1968

This is a pressed botanical herbarium specimen. The sheet displays dried plant material — slender stems bearing pinnately compound leaves and small seed pods — mounted on archival paper. Manuscript annotations in period ink identify it tentatively as Hecyferum fruticosum before a later hand, Velva E. Rudd of the U.S. National Museum, correctly assigned it to Aeschynomene fascicularis. A color calibration strip and scale bar are visible at left. The collection note reads "Campechy. 1730. Houston," placing the original gathering in Campeche, Mexico.
