Campanula lasiocarpa Cham. (Herbarium Sheet)

· 1836

This is not a cartoon or caricature — it is a botanical herbarium specimen sheet bearing pressed and dried plants identified as Campanula lasiocarpa Cham. (alpine bellflower), collected from Unalaska in the Aleutian Islands. Handwritten labels in period script note synonymy with C. algida and C. lasiocarpa. No satirical content, printmaking technique, or caricature tradition applies here. The sheet belongs to the history of natural history collection and botanical illustration, not to the Hogarth–Gillray–Daumier lineage from which comics descend. Providing a fabricated wall label for a political cartoon exhibition would be inaccurate and inappropriate for this object.
