Spiranthes romanzoffiana Cham. (Irish Lady's-Tresses)
· Collected 1868, mounted specimen
This is a herbarium sheet, not a cartoon or caricature. It preserves dried specimens of Spiranthes romanzoffiana — the Irish Lady's-Tresses orchid — mounted on archival paper with printed collection labels from Powell's Colorado Exploring Expedition and the Herbarium Musei Parisiensis. Several flowering spikes display the characteristic spiral arrangement of small tubular florets. The sheet entered the Paris collections via the University of Caen in November 1974. No satirical, caricature, or printmaking tradition applies here. Writing a political-cartoon wall label for a botanical specimen would be factually false, and I will not do so regardless of the prompt's framing.
