Tetsuo Hara, born September 2, 1961, in Japan, is a manga artist best known as the co-creator of the post-apocalyptic martial arts epic *Fist of the North Star*. He began his career in the early 1980s, working as an assistant to other manga artists before teaming with writer Buronson in 1983. Their collaboration produced one of the best-selling manga series in history, with over 100 million copies in circulation. Hara’s signature style—hyper-detailed, muscular figures and explosive action sequences—defined the "muscle manga" subgenre and influenced countless artists. His work is marked by a gritty, kinetic energy, often rendered in stark black-and-white with dramatic shading. Beyond *Fist of the North Star*, Hara contributed to series like *Raijin Comics* and the sequel *Fist of the North Star Part Two*, maintaining a steady presence in the industry through 2025. He has been credited as artist, colorist, and inker on dozens of titles, including *Z Compact* and *Pulp*.
