Shannon Denton
Shannon Eric Denton, born in Texas, is a versatile American storyteller whose career spans comics, animation, television, and video games. He began in the early 1990s at Image Comics' Extreme Studios, working alongside Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld. Denton is best known as a writer, artist, editor, and producer for major studios including Marvel, DC, Cartoon Network, and Warner Bros. His animation credits include storyboarding the Academy Award-nominated *Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius*, and contributing to series such as *X-Men: The Animated Series*, *Spider-Man Unlimited*, *Silver Surfer*, *Teen Titans*, *Justice League Action*, and *Ben 10*.
As a writer, Denton co-created the zombie Western *Graveslinger* with Jeff Mariotte and the horror comic *Fleshdigger* with Brad Keene. He also co-wrote the *Con Man* spin-off *Spectrum*. In 2000, he co-founded the independent publisher Komikwerks with Patrick Coyle, later launching the children's imprint Actionopolis. He served as editor-in-chief of Lion Forge Comics and in 2020 formed Monster Forge Productions with Steve Niles to develop horror content for film, television, and games. In 2024, he published the graphic novel *Kingdom Riders* with artist Marcus To.
Denton received the Shel Dorf Editor of the Year Award in 2011. His most credited work in our catalog includes *Deadpool*, *Common Foe*, and *Green Hornet One Night in Bangkok*. His contributions to both comics and animation have been recognized as making an indelible mark on the industry.
