Neil Kleid
1975–
Neil Kleid (born 1975) is an American cartoonist and writer best known for his graphic novels exploring crime, faith, and family. Raised in Oak Park, Michigan, he now lives in Teaneck, New Jersey. Kleid entered comics after receiving a 2003 Xeric Award grant for his graphic novella *Ninety Candles*. His signature works include *Brownsville*, a graphic novel about Murder, Inc. drawn by Jake Allen; *The Big Kahn*, a family drama about a con man posing as a rabbi, with Nicolas Cinquegrani; and the action-comedy series *Ursa Minors!* for Slave Labor Graphics. He has written for Marvel, DC, Image, and Dark Horse, adapting *Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt* into a prose novel and co-plotting *Powers: The Secret History of Deena Pilgrim*. In 2020, he released the culinary adventure *Savor* with artists John Broglia and Frank Reynoso. Beyond comics, Kleid wrote columns for websites like Newsarama and SequentialTart, co-founded the webcomic collective The Chemistry Set, and worked as a UX/UI product designer, helping create mobile apps for Topps such as Star Wars Card Trader. His design work has appeared in *Variety* and *The New York Times*. He remains active in comics and design, with his catalog including titles like *Intimidators* and *Tales from the Crypt*.
