Nat Gertler
Nat Gertler (born April 30, 1965) is an American writer and publisher best known for his work on *Peanuts* and for founding the annual 24 Hour Comics Day challenge. A native of the United States, Gertler entered comics in the late 1980s, contributing as a writer, colorist, and letterer across more than twenty issues from 1989 to 2014. His most credited titles include *The Factor*, *Speed Racer*, *Peanuts*, *Daytona Special No. 1: The Daytona 500 Story*, *Grave Tales*, and *ElfQuest: New Blood*. Beyond scripting, he built a reputation as a comics historian, authoring six books about Charles Schulz’s *Peanuts* strip. As the publisher of About Comics, he has championed creator-driven projects and helped organize the annual 24 Hour Comics Day, a global event challenging cartoonists to produce a complete comic in a single day. Gertler’s contributions have earned three Eisner Award nominations, with one win. His work balances commercial storytelling with a deep appreciation for comics history, making him a respected figure among peers and fans alike.
