Naoko Takeuchi, born March 15, 1967, in Japan, is the manga artist best known as the creator of *Sailor Moon*, one of the most commercially and culturally influential manga series of all time. She began her career as a manga artist while still a university student, and her breakthrough came with the magical-girl series *Codename: Sailor V*, which she soon expanded into the larger *Sailor Moon* universe. Her signature style blends dynamic, fashion-forward character designs with intricate panel layouts and a strong sense of whimsy and emotion. Takeuchi's work on *Sailor Moon* earned her the 1993 Kodansha Manga Award, and the series has since spawned multiple anime adaptations, musicals, and a live-action television show. She is also credited as a writer and artist on the *Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Short Stories* and the *Sailor Moon Eternal Edition* collections. In her later career, she has been less active in the monthly comics industry, though her legacy endures through reprints and new editions. She is married to fellow manga artist Yoshihiro Togashi, creator of *YuYu Hakusho* and *Hunter × Hunter*.
