Miguelanxo Prado

Miguelanxo Prado, born in A Coruña, Spain in 1958, is a Galician comic book creator whose work often blends poetic realism with a subtle, atmospheric touch. He is best known for his graphic novel *Ardalén*, a meditative exploration of memory and identity set in the Galician coast, and for his contributions to the anthology series *Eroticon-reeks*. Prado entered comics after studying architecture, bringing a precise, painterly style to his art, which he typically colors himself. His signature approach combines delicate linework with muted, evocative palettes, creating a quiet, introspective mood. He frequently collaborates with European publishers and has worked as a writer, artist, colorist, inker, and letterer across a career spanning from 1989 to 2025. Among his notable co-creations is the comic *C'est du sport*, a sports-themed work. Later in life, Prado has continued to produce graphic novels and illustrations, maintaining a steady presence in the European comics scene. He has received several major awards, including the National Comic Award from Spain and the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material, solidifying his reputation as a distinctive voice in contemporary comics.
