Larry Elmore

Larry Elmore, born August 5, 1948, is an American fantasy artist best known for his iconic illustrations for Dungeons & Dragons and the Dragonlance series. His path into comics began with a love for fantasy art, leading him to create covers and interior work for magazines and game modules. He is most recognized for his own comic strip, *SnarfQuest*, which he wrote and drew, and which later became a graphic novel. Elmore’s style is characterized by detailed, heroic fantasy imagery, often featuring knights, dragons, and adventurers. His key collaborators include writers and editors at TSR, where he worked closely with other fantasy artists. Notable co-creations include the visual look of the Dragonlance world and numerous D&D modules. Later in life, he authored the art book *Reflections of Myth* and continued to paint. He has received multiple awards, including the Chesley Award for his contributions to fantasy art. His work remains influential in the fantasy genre, spanning comics, video games, and book covers.
