Knut Nærum was born on 3 March 1961 in Arendal, Norway, and grew up in Halden, later attending high school in Grimstad. He studied at the Agder Regional College before settling in Oslo, where he lives with his wife and two children. Nærum is best known in Norway as a permanent panelist on the satirical news program *Nytt på nytt*, a role he held until stepping down in 2015, but his creative output spans comedy, television, and comics. As a writer and artist, he created the long-running satirical comic strip *Bloid*, which lampoons politics and media, and has contributed to Disney comics such as *Andrés Önd*, *Uncle Scrooge*, and *Donald Duck & Co*. His comics work often blends sharp humor with a clean, expressive style. Beyond the page, Nærum has written numerous books, including the parody *Norsk litteraturhistorie, fritt etter hukommelsen* and the novel *Døde menn går på ski*, and co-authored *Madonna-gåten* with Elisabeth Botterli and Peder Udnæs. He also appeared in the film *Trollhunter*. A member of Norway’s Red Party, Nærum’s career reflects a consistent satirical voice. His comics remain a fixture in Norwegian periodicals, and his influence on the country’s humor and sequential art is widely acknowledged.
