Joshua Luna was born on January 9, 1981, and is best known as one-half of the Luna Brothers, the Filipino-American comics team that made a name for themselves with bold, creator-owned series. He entered the industry alongside his older brother Jonathan, and the pair quickly gained attention with their debut series *Ultra*, a superhero drama with a mature, character-driven edge. They followed that with *Girls*, a tense horror-tinged story, and later the supernatural revenge saga *The Sword*. Joshua’s primary role in the partnership evolved into scripting dialogue, while Jonathan handled the art. The brothers also collaborated on *Spider-Woman: Origin* for Marvel, providing the artwork for the miniseries. Joshua’s work is marked by a clean, expressive storytelling style and a knack for blending genre conventions with personal stakes. After a concentrated run from 2004 to 2011, he stepped back from regular comics work, leaving behind a compact but influential body of work. The Luna Brothers’ creator-owned titles remain touchstones for fans of independent superhero and horror comics, and Joshua’s contributions helped define a brief but memorable chapter in early-2000s comics.
