Jorge Rubén Zaffino (1959–2002) was an Argentine comic book artist best known for his visceral, painterly style and intense action sequences. Born in Argentina in 1959, he began his career in his home country before gaining international recognition. Zaffino is most closely associated with the 1980s and 1990s, working on titles such as *Terror Inc.*, *Winterworld*, and the Italian series *I giganti dell'avventura* and *Euracomix*. His work often featured heavy inks, dramatic shadows, and a gritty realism that suited horror and adventure genres. He collaborated with writer David Michelinie on *Terror Inc.* for Marvel Comics, and with Chuck Dixon on *Winterworld*. Zaffino also contributed to *Graphic Marvel* and *Feest Graphic Novel* collections. His career spanned 24 credited issues between 1987 and 2013, though his output was cut short by his death in 2002. Despite his relatively brief time in the industry, Zaffino left a lasting impression on fans of European and American comics alike, remembered for his raw energy and distinctive visual storytelling.
