Jane Fancher
Jane Suzanne Fancher, born in 1952, is a science fiction and fantasy author and artist best known for her work on the long-running independent series *ElfQuest*. Her career in comics spanned from 1982 to 2014, during which she contributed as an artist, colorist, and inker on 31 issues. Beyond *ElfQuest*, her credits include the German editions *Alvefolket*, *Abenteuer in der Elfenwelt*, and *Bastei Comic Edition*, as well as the fantasy series *Duncan & Mallory* and *A Distant Soil*. Fancher’s style is characterized by a delicate, detailed linework and a warm, atmospheric use of color, often collaborating with writers and artists like Wendy Pini and Richard Pini. She co-created the *Duncan & Mallory* series with Robert Asprin and Phil Foglio, blending whimsical fantasy with sharp humor. Later in life, she shifted focus to prose, writing novels such as *The Ring of Destiny* and *The Sword of the Lady*.
