James Kochalka
1967–
James Kochalka was born on May 26, 1967, in Springfield, Vermont. He is best known as a cartoonist, animator, and musician whose work blends autobiographical slice-of-life with surreal whimsy. His comics often feature his wife, children, cat, and friends, filtered through his own playful observations. Kochalka’s most-credited titles include *Superf*ckers*, *Glork Patrol*, *Little Mister Man*, *Peanutbutter & Jeremy*, and *Triple Dare*. He also created the *Superf*ckers Forever* series. His style is marked by a loose, expressive line and a childlike sincerity that can shift abruptly into absurdist humor. In March 2011, he was named Vermont’s first cartoonist laureate, serving a three-year term. He remains active in comics, music, and animation, with a catalog spanning from 1995 to 2023.
