Jacques Terpant
Jacques Terpant was born on 11 April 1957 in Romans-sur-Isère, Drôme, France. A French comics artist, he made his debut in 1982 with *Branle-bas de combat*, created alongside writer Luc Cornillon. His drawing style shows the clear influence of Jean Giraud. Terpant is best known for his work on the *Sept cavaliers* series, an adaptation of Jean Raspail’s novel of the same name. For the third volume of that series, he received the Prix Saint-Michel for best artwork in 2011. Over a career spanning from 2001 to 2021, he has been credited as artist, colorist, and inker on 18 issues, with his most frequent credits appearing on titles such as *Piraten*, *Messara*, *Pirates*, and *Pirater*. His later life remains largely out of the public eye, but his contributions to Franco-Belgian comics—particularly his detailed, atmospheric linework—continue to be appreciated by readers and historians alike.
