Gerard Leever, born on 30 April 1960 in Naarden, Netherlands, is a Dutch cartoonist whose career spans more than four decades of prolific output across a wide range of publications. Active since 1981, he has accumulated credits as artist, inker, letterer, and writer across nearly 600 issues, demonstrating a versatility that has made him a consistent presence in Dutch comics and illustrated print media.

Leever is perhaps most closely associated with *Tina*, the long-running Dutch girls' comics magazine, alongside contributions to *TrosKompas*, *Margriet*, and *Suus & Sas*, suggesting a particular strength in accessible, character-driven work aimed at mainstream and family audiences. His range extends to the comics-critical publication *Stripschrift* and the more offbeat *Het Felix Flux Museum*, hinting at an engagement with the broader culture of the medium beyond commercial assignments.

His sustained body of work earned him the Stripschapprijs in 2006, one of the Netherlands' most respected honors in the comics field, awarded by the Stripschap — the Dutch association devoted to comics appreciation and scholarship. The recognition reflects not just the quantity of his output but the regard in which his craft is held within the Dutch comics community. As of the mid-2020s, Leever remains active, a reliable and skilled contributor to a medium he has helped shape over nearly half a century.
