Eddie Berganza
Eddie Berganza (born c. 1965) is an American comics editor and writer best known for his long editorial career at DC Comics, where he rose to Executive Editor before his tenure ended in controversy. He entered the industry in the early 1990s and spent over two decades shaping DC’s line, particularly during the post-Crisis and New 52 eras. As a writer, he contributed to titles such as *Superboy*, *The Titans*, *Batman: Orphans*, *Batwoman*, *Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E.*, and *Demon Knights*, often collaborating with artists like Tom Grummett and Karl Kerschl. His most notable co-creation is likely the character Batwoman, Kate Kane, whom he helped develop with writer Greg Rucka and artist J.H. Williams III. In 2017, following multiple sexual harassment allegations, Berganza was demoted and later terminated from DC. His legacy is deeply complicated: while he played a role in launching significant characters and shepherding major storylines, his misconduct has overshadowed his editorial achievements and sparked broader industry conversations about workplace accountability.
