Don Hillsman II
1965–
Don Hillsman II, born in 1965, is a professional penciller and inker whose steady hand shaped the look of superhero and fantasy comics from the late 1990s into the 2020s. He is best known for his inking work across a range of publishers, including DC, Marvel, CrossGen, Dark Horse, and Caliber. Over a two-decade career, he contributed to more than fifty issues, with his most frequent credits appearing on CrossGen’s *Scion* and *Meridian*, as well as Marvel’s *Gambit*, *Weapon X*, and *Fantastic Four: House of M*. His clean, precise linework complemented the pencils of artists like Brandon Peterson and Steve Epting, helping define the visual tone of these series. Hillsman also co-created the character Sigil for CrossGen, a key figure in that publisher’s shared universe. While he never sought the spotlight, his reliability and craftsmanship made him a sought-after collaborator. After 2020, his published output slowed, but his influence endures in the polished, detail-rich pages of the titles he helped bring to life.
