Dave Kaler (born 1936) is an American writer best known for his foundational role in building 1960s comic book fandom, especially through the early organization of comics conventions. He later wrote for Charlton Comics, DC Comics, and Warren Publishing. Kaler’s writing credits span 16 issues between 1966 and 2017, with his most frequent work appearing in *Captain Atom*, *Sinister Tales*, *Fantastic Giants*, *Gwandanaland Comics*, and *Shock Classics*. His contributions to fandom helped shape the community that would sustain and celebrate the medium for decades. Though his comics writing career was brief, his influence as a fan organizer remains a key part of his legacy.
