Cary Burkett
Cary Burkett is an American radio broadcaster and former comic book writer, best known for co-creating the DC Comics character Nemesis with artist Dan Spiegle. Born in the United States, Burkett began his comics career in the late 1970s and remained active through the early 2020s, scripting over 100 issues across multiple publishers. He is most associated with DC’s *Warlord*, *World’s Finest Comics*, *Superman*, *The Brave and the Bold*, and *Arion*, as well as Marvel’s *Marvel Team-Up*. His writing often balanced action with character-driven plots, and he worked frequently with artists such as Dan Spiegle and others. Burkett’s co-creation Nemesis, a mysterious vigilante, debuted in *The Brave and the Bold* #166 and became a recurring figure in the DC Universe. Later in life, he transitioned to radio broadcasting, though he occasionally returned to comics.
