Art Pinajian
1914–1999
Art Pinajian was an Armenian American comic book creator best known for his work during the Golden Age of Comics, particularly for co-creating the Quality Comics characters Madame Fatal and the Invisible Hood (also called Hooded Justice and Invisible Justice). Born Arthur A. Pinajian on March 28, 1914, he began his career in the late 1930s, joining the Eisner-Iger Studio in 1938–1939 before moving to Funnies, Inc. from 1939 to 1942. His signature style emerged in titles like *Crack Comics*, *Smash Comics*, and *Keen Detective Funnies*, where he worked as an artist, inker, and writer. Pinajian remained active through the 1950s and continued creating art until his death on August 19, 1999. Though his later years saw him largely out of the spotlight, his contributions to early superhero and adventure comics have been acknowledged in retrospectives, and his work appears in modern reprints like *Marvel Facsímil* and *Super Spy*. He is remembered as a steady hand in the formative years of the medium, collaborating with other studio talents of the era.
