Vulture

Who is Vulture?

A feral, savage villain inhabiting the dystopian future of 2099, this Vulture bears little resemblance to his classic counterpart — he is a cannibalistic predator who poses a brutal threat to Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara, in that grim corporate-ruled world.

A creature of the far future and the gritty present alike, this Vulture soared onto the scene in 1995 courtesy of the sharp creative minds of Peter David and Rick Leonardi — the same duo who helped define the Spider-Man 2099 corner of Marvel's Copper/Modern Age. Haunting the pages of Spider-Man 2099 and its related titles across nearly three decades, this character shares a dangerous world with the likes of Miguel O'Hara, Tyler Stone, and Kasey Nash, brushing up against both the classic Spider-Man and his futuristic counterpart. With a debut in the landmark crossover Spider-Man 2099 Meets Spider-Man, this Vulture is firmly woven into one of Marvel's most ambitious world-building experiments — a dystopian tomorrow where familiar names take on unsettling new meaning. Collectors with a taste for the darker, cyberpunk-inflected edge of '90s Marvel will find this a rewarding piece of that visionary era.
