Verdandi

Verdandi is one of the three Norns of Norse mythology, beings who weave the destinies of gods and mortals alike. In Marvel's Thor comics, she appears alongside her sisters Urd and Skuld, embodying the present strand of fate in the cosmic tapestry.

Born from the mythic imagination of the legendary Walter Simonson, Verdandi made her Marvel debut in the pages of Thor #347 in 1984, stepping out of Norse legend and into the Bronze Age Marvel Universe with the weight of fate itself behind her. As one of the Norns — the weavers of destiny in the Norse tradition — she naturally keeps extraordinary company, sharing pages with Thor, Thor Odinson, and fellow fate-weavers Skuld and Urd, as well as Ms. Marvel.
