Valtrauta
Valtrauta is an Asgardian goddess who debuted in the mythic realms of Marvel's Thor, counted among the divine inhabitants of Asgard. Little is known of her specific role or powers beyond her status as one of the Asgardian Gods.
Few corners of Marvel's Bronze Age feel as mythically charged as the Asgardian realms that Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, Keith Pollard, and Gene Day brought to life in Thor #311 in 1981 β and that's precisely where Valtrauta made her entrance, counted among the Asgardian Gods. She's a rarity: a character whose presence has persisted quietly across an impressive four decades, from the Bronze Age all the way to 2023, surfacing in the pages of Thor and turning up in collected editions alongside some of Marvel's grandest cosmic and mythological tapestries. She keeps genuinely exalted company β Odin, Hela, Hogun, and Hildegarde among them β which speaks to her place within the deeper fabric of Asgard's sprawling cast. With only a handful of appearances to her name, Valtrauta is the kind of discovery that rewards the dedicated reader who loves to explore the richer, less-traveled corners of Marvel mythology.
