Tyrannus
Born from the imagination of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963's The Incredible Hulk #5, Tyrannus is a Silver Age Marvel creation with genuine staying power — a villain who has kept some very interesting company over nearly six decades of comics. His adventures have unfolded most prominently across The Incredible Hulk and The X-Men, and the fact that he shares pages with the likes of Bruce Banner, the Hulk, Harvey Elder, and the enigmatic Romulus Augustulus speaks to the rich, subterranean corners of the Marvel universe he inhabits. With three key-issue appearances to his name and a publishing history stretching from 1963 all the way to 2021, Tyrannus is exactly the kind of deep-cut Silver Age antagonist that rewards the curious collector — a Kirby-and-Lee original who never quite faded into obscurity.
