Strumming into the twilight years of the Golden Age, The Singing Cowboy made his debut in Ziff-Davis's Kid Cowboy #5 in 1951, brought to life by the pencil of Ross Andru — an artist who would go on to far greater fame, making this an early gem worth hunting down. Over a run stretching through the mid-fifties across Kid Cowboy and Wild Western Roundup, this troubadour of the range kept colorful company with the likes of Kid Cowboy, Clint Harper, Red Feather, and the wonderfully named Chuckawalla.
