Stormavik
Stormavik is a member of the Oktober Guard, the elite Soviet special-forces team introduced as a Russian counterpart to G.I. Joe. Operating alongside comrades like Lt. Daina and Horrorshow, the Guard frequently crossed paths — and occasionally allied — with the American team on dangerous Cold War missions.
Born into the pages of Marvel's G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #6 in 1982, Stormavik is a Bronze Age creation from the legendary team of Larry Hama and Herb Trimpe — the very architects of one of comics' most beloved military universes. Over four decades of publication history, this character has kept some genuinely compelling company, sharing adventures with figures like Lt. Daina, Horrorshow, and Ivan Nikolevich Brekhov in stories that expanded the G.I. Joe world well beyond American borders. With at least one key collector-significant issue to their name and appearances spanning from 1982 all the way to 2024, Stormavik is a fascinating piece of that rich tapestry — the kind of deep-cut character that rewards the dedicated fan willing to dig into the full breadth of what Hama's world had to offer.
