Sniffer

Sniffer is a supporting character who debuted in Lev Gleason's Daredevil, running with a youthful gang alongside Bart Hill, Jock, Curly, and Pee Wee. A scrappy Golden Age figure, he occupied the colorful, pulpy world surrounding Daredevil himself.

A scrappy product of the Golden Age, Sniffer burst onto the scene in 1945 courtesy of the legendary Charles Biro and Norman Maurer in the pages of Lev Gleason's Daredevil — one of the most colorful superhero titles of the era. Running through the late 1940s, Sniffer carved out a niche in that vibrant, pulpy world, keeping lively company with the likes of Daredevil himself, Bart Hill, Jock, Curly, and Pee Wee. With around fifteen catalog appearances concentrated in Lev Gleason's flagship book, Sniffer is a genuine slice of Golden Age comics history — the kind of character that reminds devoted collectors just how richly populated those early four-color adventures really were.
