Sinker
Sinker is a supporting character in Steve Moncuse's underwater noir comedy Fish Police, inhabiting a world of anthropomorphic fish detectives and criminals in an oceanside city populated by memorably named denizens.
A denizen of the wonderfully weird underwater noir world that Steve Moncuse built at Comico in the mid-1980s, Sinker swims through the pages of Fish Police alongside a cast of memorably named characters β Inspector Gill, the Chief, Hook, Goldie, and Joe β in one of the Copper Age's most delightfully offbeat indie titles. Debuting in 1986, this is a character born from that fertile era of creator-owned experimentation, when small publishers were taking gleeful risks on concepts that the Big Two wouldn't dare touch. With only a handful of catalog appearances, Sinker may be a supporting player in the grand scheme of the Fish Police universe, but that just makes tracking down those issues all the more rewarding for fans of quirky, imaginative comics history.
