Who is Shocker?

The Shocker is a Marvel villain who appears in French reprints published by Panini France, most notably in the anthology series Strange. A recurring foe of Spider-Man, he employs vibro-shock gauntlets to battle the wall-crawler.

Born in the Bronze Age pages of Strange #118 (1979) under the hands of Len Wein and Ross Andru, this Panini France incarnation of Shocker has been turning up in the catalog for an impressive 46 years and counting. Sharing panel space with the likes of Spider-Man, Peter Parker, J. Jonah Jameson, and Flash Thompson, Shocker moves in some of Marvel's most iconic company, with Ultimate Spider-Man and Strange among the series where they appear most. With a collector-significant key issue to their name and a presence stretching from 1979 all the way to 2025, this is a character whose longevity in the French comics market speaks for itself — a Bronze Age survivor well worth tracking down.
