Scatterbrain is a member of the Technet, a mercenary group of alien bounty hunters led by Gatecrasher, who debuted pursuing Captain Britain and Meggan in the inaugural Excalibur Special Edition.

Born from the imaginative partnership of Chris Claremont and Alan Davis in the pages of Excalibur Special Edition in 1987, Scatterbrain is a Copper Age Marvel creation with a wonderfully offbeat name that fits right in with the wild, irreverent energy that made Excalibur such a beloved corner of the Marvel universe. Keeping company with the likes of Gatecrasher, Bodybag, Joyboy, and the memorably named Yap "Bonebag," this character runs with a genuinely eccentric crowd that only the Excalibur world could produce. With appearances stretching across nearly four decades into 2025 — including turns in Avengers — Scatterbrain has quietly persisted far longer than a six-appearance count might suggest, a testament to the lasting pull of that original Claremont/Davis creative spark.
