Born in the late Copper Age of DC Comics, RAM made their debut in Teen Titans Spotlight #19 in 1988, the creation of writer Barbara Randall and artist Colleen Doran. Their story continued most prominently through The New Guardians, sharing pages with a vivid international cast that includes Extraño, Jet, Gregorio de la Vega, and Celia Windward — a roster that captures the ambitious, globe-spanning spirit DC was chasing at the close of the '80s. With appearances also turning up in Adventures of Superman and Forever People, RAM touched more corners of the DC universe than their modest 17-issue catalog count might suggest.
