Bursting onto the scene in 1994 courtesy of Tom Mason, Len Strazewski, and Leonard Kirk, Prototype is a Malibu Comics creation forged in the creative ferment of the mid-'90s independent boom. This character shares their world with a compelling roster — Mantra, Shadowmage, and Aera among them — placing them squarely within Malibu's ambitious, interconnected universe. With appearances spanning The Phoenix Resurrection alongside their home title, Prototype clearly had a role in some of that imprint's bigger storytelling moments.
