Pops Racer roared onto the comics page in 1987's Speed Racer #1 from Now Comics, brought to life by Len Strazewski and Gary Thomas Washington at the dawn of the Copper Age — and he's been part of the racing world's mythology ever since. A fixture across nearly four decades of Speed Racer publications, he shares the page with some of the most iconic names in the franchise: Speed Racer, Racer X, Rex Racer, Trixie, and even the irrepressible Chim-Chim.
