About the series
Based on the original anime by Tatsuo Yoshida, this 1988–1989 Now Comics series revved up the Mach 5 for two issues of comic-book adventure. Writer Tatsuo Yoshida, alongside Mike Mulvihill and Takako Hamazaki, adapted the high-octane exploits of Speed Racer, with Yoshida also providing the art. A faithful, early licensed take on the beloved racing hero, it captures the spirit of the classic cartoon for a new generation of readers.
