Plastique
Bette Sans Souci is a French-Canadian separatist terrorist who debuted as an enemy of Firestorm, using explosive devices sewn into her costume to further her radical political cause. She later gained the metahuman ability to charge objects with explosive energy.
Bursting onto the scene in The Fury of Firestorm #7 in 1982, Plastique is a Bronze Age DC creation from writer Gerry Conway and artist Pat Broderick whose career has proven remarkably durable β still turning up in comics more than four decades after her debut. She's moved through some of DC's most storied titles, with Suicide Squad and Justice League of America among her most frequent haunts, and she keeps genuinely elite company: her adventures have unfolded alongside the likes of Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern. With a key-issue appearance to her name and a publishing history stretching from 1982 all the way to 2025, Plastique is the kind of character that rewards the curious collector who digs a little deeper into DC's rich ensemble.
