Pifpaf
Tucked into the beloved world of Asterix, Pifpaf made their debut in 1971's Asterix #9, brought to life by the legendary creative team of René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo, and Gudrun Penndorf under the Egmont Ehapa imprint. A Bronze Age creation with a notably compact but collector-acknowledged footprint — one of their three catalogued appearances carries key-issue status — Pifpaf inhabits a wonderfully named corner of the Asterix universe, sharing pages with such memorably titled characters as Grautvornix, Rohrpostix, Paragraf, and Stenograf. Their presence across both Asterix and the dialect-rich Asterix Mundart series, spanning all the way to 1997, makes Pifpaf a small but genuine thread in the long, joyful tapestry of one of Europe's most cherished comics traditions.
