Pen-pen is a warm-water penguin who lives with Misato Katsuragi in her apartment, serving as her unusual household pet in the Neon Genesis Evangelion story. Intelligent and quirky, he enjoys hot springs baths and beer.

Pen-pen made their comics debut in the pages of Neon Genesis Evangelion #2 in 2004, brought to life by artist Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and GAINAX in this Modern Age manga edition published by Bonnier Carlsen.
