Who is Ochse?

Ochse is the German-language edition name for the Ox, the enormously strong but dim-witted muscle of the criminal trio known as the Enforcers. A hulking brute-for-hire, he partnered with Fancy Dan and Montana as a recurring street-level threat to Spider-Man.

Ochse made their comic book debut in the Silver Age pages of Hit Comics #15 in 1967, courtesy of the legendary creative team of Stan Lee and John Romita — a pedigree that speaks for itself. Published under Hachette's German-language imprint, this character exists in that fascinating corner of comics history where international editions brought Marvel's vibrant universe to new audiences, sharing pages with the likes of Peter Parker, Betty Brant, and the notorious Enforcers. Turning up across titles like Marvel Origins and Spider-Man Komplett, Ochse has quietly persisted in the catalog for nearly six decades — a testament to the enduring reach of Silver Age storytelling beyond its original shores. A modest but genuine piece of comics history for the dedicated collector who loves tracing how Marvel's world traveled around the globe.
