Nelson Gardner is Captain Metropolis, a founding member of the Minutemen — the 1940s superhero team in the Watchmen universe. A former Marine with a patriotic costumed identity, he helped organize the group alongside heroes like Silk Spectre and the Comedian.

Nelson Gardner stepped onto the page in the landmark Watchmen #1 in 1986, part of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seismic Copper Age reinvention of superhero mythology at DC Comics.
