Naze
Naze is a Cheyenne shaman and mentor to Forge, the mutant inventor and fellow Native American. A spiritual guide deeply connected to indigenous mysticism, Naze becomes entangled in the battle against the Adversary, a powerful ancient evil threatening both the physical and spirit worlds.
Naze stepped onto the Marvel stage in 1984's The Uncanny X-Men #184 β a Bronze Age debut crafted by the legendary team of Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. β and immediately found themselves woven into some of the most dramatic corners of the X-Men's world, sharing pages with icons like Forge, Wolverine, and Ororo Munroe, as well as the fearsome Adversary. With ties to the X-Men, Freedom Force, and the Marauders, this is a character who moves through Marvel's mutant landscape with a remarkably wide orbit for someone with a relatively slim catalog footprint. That one key-issue appearance carries real collector weight, and the fact that Naze's presence echoes across nearly four decades β from Bronze Age origins through 2022 β makes them a quietly compelling figure worth seeking out for any serious X-Men devotee.
