Who is Miss Shirl-Thing?

Born in the fertile fringe of 1984's underground comics scene, Miss Shirl-Thing made her debut in Last Gasp's gloriously offbeat Weirdo #11, the brainchild of Anthony Mostrom. She inhabits the wonderfully strange world of Weirdo and Martini Baton!, sharing those anarchic pages with the equally singular Martini Baton. A rare figure with only a handful of catalog appearances, she's a genuine curio of Bronze Age underground comix — the kind of character that rewards the dedicated digger who loves their comics weird, willful, and proudly outside the mainstream.
