M'Baku
M'Baku is a fierce Wakandan warrior and chieftain of the Jabari Tribe who challenged T'Challa's rule by reviving the forbidden White Gorilla Cult. By slaying a sacred white gorilla and bathing in its blood, he gained immense strength and took the name Man-Ape.
Born in the pages of The Avengers #62 in 1969, M'Baku is a Silver Age Marvel creation from the legendary team of Roy Thomas and John Buscema β a pairing that knew how to make an entrance. Over more than five decades of comics history, this villain has carved out a persistent, menacing presence, most frequently haunting the pages of Black Panther and crossing paths with heavy hitters like Black Panther himself, Iron Man, and Clint Barton. A member of Batroc's Brigade and a recurring thorn in the side of T'Challa, M'Baku is the kind of enduring antagonist who keeps coming back β and with a key issue already to his name, collectors have good reason to pay attention.
