Luke Kirby
Luke Kirby is a young boy with a natural gift for magic who becomes the apprentice of a mysterious conjurer, learning the secrets of true sorcery in a series of dark, folkloric adventures published in 2000 AD.
Born in the pages of 2000 AD #571 in 1988, Luke Kirby is a Fleetway creation who emerged during the Copper Age from one of British comics' most celebrated anthologies β the same weekly that housed legends like Judge Dredd, SlΓ‘ine, and Hammerstein. Brought to life by writer Simon Geller and the incomparable Steve Dillon, whose linework was already becoming the stuff of comics legend, Luke carved out his own corner of that extraordinary universe across a run stretching into the mid-1990s and spanning 2000 AD, the 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special, and 2000 A.D. Showcase. With around 45 catalogued appearances and company that elite on the roster, he's a rewarding discovery for any fan who wants to dig deeper into the rich, irreverent world that made British comics a force to be reckoned with.

Trivia
- Long before Harry Potter or Neil Gaiman's Tim Hunter ever graced a page, this series was already staking its claim as an early mainstream British 'boy wizard' comic β predating both by years and owing nothing to either.en.wikipedia.org
