Lieutenant Armstrong

Right at the dawn of DC's Golden Age, Lieutenant Armstrong stepped onto the printed page in the very first issue of Star Spangled Comics in 1941 — a debut you simply don't get more foundational than that. Created by the legendary Jerry Siegel alongside Harold Sherman, this character emerged in one of comics' most electric eras, sharing those early, energetic pages with the likes of Sylvester Pemberton, Tarantula, and Pat Dugan. The run was brief, stretching only into 1942, but appearing in the landmark debut issue of Star Spangled Comics gives Lieutenant Armstrong a genuine collector's pedigree that any Golden Age enthusiast will appreciate.
