Who is King Midas?
A figure of myth reimagined for the Silver Age, this King Midas stepped onto the Charlton Comics stage in 1965, conjured by the prolific Joe Gill and artist Bill Fraccio for Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #47. Charlton's anthology universe was a wild and wonderfully unpredictable place, and Midas keeps genuinely striking company — sharing pages with the likes of Vulcan, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Johnny Mann across titles including Son of Vulcan and Uncanny Tales. With only a handful of appearances to his name, he's a rare and curious gem for devotees of Charlton's offbeat Silver Age storytelling.
